My name is Maricarmen Arcos, thanks for taking the time to read who I am, I am deeply honored that you consider me to capture the memories of your life.
I was born on July 18, 1988 in Emiliano Zapata, Tabasco; a picturesque village on the banks of the Usumacinta River. in the south of the Mexican border.
I am the eldest daughter of two teachers, who instilled in me a huge taste for reading and arts; i eventually develop an introspective personality so I started looking for ways to express myself; Writing was my first love until I discovered photography; which it has become the great love of my life.
My photographs are a mix of travel, food, the times I’ve fallen in love, the time i’ve broken my heart, movies, music; everything I loved, felt and experienced in this life; things that have made me who I am and help me see who you are.
I’ll tell you something sad but brutally honest, we are not eternal and life is only made up of moments and memories sometimes.
How would you like to be remembered when you’re gone? Or how would you like to remember to the ones that are no longer here? That’s something I always ask to myself; take pictures might not make much sense now; but trust me at some point it will, Photography takes its real value over time.
I hope in this world so big and so small can agree, you, me and my camera, would be an honor for me to be who will help you to save your memories.
I love trying creative things in a fast paced environment. I adapt to any given situation and try to bring the beauty out that is already there. This is your day, lets have fun with it and make memories.
I have won a boatload of awards for my work, and I’m grateful for every single one of them, but I’ve always been unsure of whether I earned them or whether the jury was rigged. By now I am literally addicted to making photos…for which there is no known cure, except to make more.
